Random Tips & Facts
It’s always a good idea, and a lot easier, to clean your barbecue immediately after you’ve used it. Use a barbecue brush with sturdy bristles or a scraper to scour the plate and grill. For a gas barbecue, reheat it on high until smoking, then turn off the heat. Next, clean your barbecue (all types) and brush with cold water to get rid of any charred remains. Squeeze lemon juice onto the plate and grill, and rub with a clean cloth or newspaper. This will cleanse the plate and grill so that no strong flavours are left for next time. A light brush or spray of oil on the plate and grill once cool will keep them in good condition and prevent rusting. Used coals from wood or charcoal barbecues can be spread over your garden once cool.
