Rum Sauce

Makes 1/2 Litre

1-cup sugar
1 tablespoon grated lemon rind
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1-tablespoon butter
1-tablespoon cornflour
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup rum
Pinch salt

Combine sugar and lemon rind with water; add butter and heat to boiling.
Mix cornflour with lemon juice and add.
Cook for 8 minutes, remove from heat, strain, and add rum and salt.
