Age: 8 months +
1 red eating apple
1 teaspoon honey
a little butter
cinnamon, nutmeg (for older children)
Wash, dry and core apple a little more then halfway through. Fill cavity with honey, butter and spices. Slit the skin around the centre of the apple to prevent it bursting, then place in a small dish with just a little water to prevent sticking. Bake in a moderate oven for about 30 minutes, or until soft.
To microwave: prepare apple as above. Place on dish, cover with plastic wrap and cook on HIGH for 4 minutes.
