Playdough

Playdough

Age: 3 years +

1 cup (250 mL) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (125 mL) salt
2 tbsp (25 mL) cream of tartar
1 cup (250 mL) water
1 tbsp (15 mL) cooking oil
food colouring

In a pot, mix together the flour, salt and cream of tartar. Stir in the water and oil. Cook the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. When the mixture is thick and smooth, turn off the stove and remove the pot. Spoon the playdough out onto a counter that’s dusted with flour. Allow it to cool for a few minutes. Divide the dough into two or three balls. Knead a different food colouring into each ball until the colour is even. If the dough gets sticky, mix in a bit more flour. Store each colour of dough in a separate plastic bag or tub.
