Age: 9 Months +
2 tablespoons (25g) butter
2 (level) tablespoons of flour
1 cup of breastmilk or infant formula
Melt butter in a small pot, then stir in the flour. Pour in 1/2 cup of breastmilk (or infant formula) and bring to the boil, stirring all the time. Add the other 1/2 cup of milk (or a mixture of vegetable cooking liquid or unsalted chicken stock and milk).
Stir until the sauce is smooth and quite thick, then take off the heat and stir in 2-3 tablespoons of grated cheese. Freeze what you don’t use immediately in ice cubes, trays or bottles containing 1/4 cup amounts.
