Chocolat Burfie (Chocolate and Milk Squares)
1 x 400g (14oz) can condensed milk
75g (3oz) butter
110g (4oz) cocoa powder
4 Tablespoons mixed chopped nuts
1. Pour the condensed milk into a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Add the butter and cocoa.
2. Cook on a gentle heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and begins to leave the sides of the pan.
3. Grease a flat dish with the extra butter. Pour in the thick cocoa mixture and smooth the surface with a spatula. Allow to cool and set.
4. Sprinkle with the mixed nuts and cut into 2.5cm (1in) squares. This burfie can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.
